We want to tell you the inspiring story of Stephen Ritz (@stephenritz), an educator from the South Bronx, USA, who has traveled the world cultivating passion and purpose from an innovative idea.

Stephen is an international award-winning educator for being the writer of «The Power of a Plant» and for being the founder of Green Bronx Machine (@greenbronxmachine), an organization driven with the purpose of improving school performance and in turn generating greater hope and ambition among students.
Through such an educational program, students grow and eat their vegetables improving their academic performance, in fact, Stephen and his students have grown over 100,000 pounds of vegetables in the South Bronx. Stephen has also increased school attendance from 40% to 93% daily and has helped provide over 2,200 jobs for Bronx youth.
This curriculum has been implemented in the United States as well as in Colombia, Dubai, Canada, Cairo, and others.
We honor and congratulate on his day educator Stephen Ritz, who from his profession has brought purpose, passion and learning internationally.
Innovative educator Stephen Ritz, the founder of the Green Bronx Machine, will be the keynote speaker at SUNY Potsdam’s 2018 Commencement Ceremony.
