Our Eco Genius Youth today is Daniel Cáceres
A 26 year old young man from Peru, member of the Nuevo Peru party, regional representative of Sustainable Ocean Alliance in Latin America (SOA), diver and marine biologist who fights for the environmental rights of his country, and who also believes that politics and education are fundamental pieces to save planet earth.
Daniel, while studying marine biology, realized that there was a void in the schools regarding conservation issues, he even believes that we are all capable of defending ecosystems, not only scientists. In addition, as an environmental activist, he believes that we must fight against underwater mining.
What does Cáceres recommend to young people who want to be environmental leaders?
«The first tip for other young people to become environmental leaders is to take care of each other and listen to each other, not just talk, we have to value what other young people say and really realize that the ocean needs a strong defense. We can’t be satisfied with small changes, we need a strong reform in our ocean» Daniel commented to The Oxygen Project.
