Mike Wimmer is our Ecogenius: 12-Year-Old to Graduate from High School and College in Same Week
Wimmer’s parents are proud to see their son’s progress.
Mike, with only 12 years old, in just one year has completed four years of schooling: two years of high school and a two-year associate’s degree, according to CNN
He is also the founder of two tech startup companies called Next Era Innovations and Reflect Social, according to WCNC.
The first company, Next Era Innovations, focuses on coding and the robotic world, primarily with the interaction between humans and AI robots, according to its site.
The second company, Reflect Social, states on its website that its focus is combining «popular social media platforms with the Internet of Things devices to provide a new dynamic social experience.»
«A lot of people think I’ve given up my childhood or somehow lost it,» Mike told CNN. «And I say to them that I’m having the time of my life.»
Mike T. Wimmer is a profoundly gifted forward thinking 12-year-old who has his goals set to redefining the future. Even at this young age, Mike has an extensive understanding of the coding and robotic world. He sees the next era in history beginning now with major advancements in the symbiosis between humans and AI robots.
Our Ecogenius was a self-taught, most of his programming and robotics knowledge he did through trial and error and online tutorial videos.
Mike was invited to speak at the Mensa Annual Meeting in July 2018 in Indianapolis and again this summer in Phoenix. In September 2017, he attended the NAO Robotics User and Development Conference held at the NERVE Center on the UMASS Lowell campus. He had the honor of speaking and presenting to the conference.
He was the winner of the Educational Application Development award. He returned to the -Congress in 2018 as a technical instructor teaching sessions on database incorporation using a Nao robot.
Mike again won an award this time for the most downloaded Nao robot application of the year.
Wimmer is analyzing what he wants to do when he graduates: he has many job offers inside and outside the U.S., continue studying or accept a scholarship to help him develop his startup.
He’s still a kid: he makes time for normal kid activities, like playing basketball and building Legos.
