Salih Agir capturó el Cambio Climático

Esta imagen pertenece a la serie Magnifying Glass del fotógrafo turco Salih Agir, con la que ganó el 1er Premio del Concurso de fotografía estándar «Captura el Cambio Climático» del British Council en 2011.
«Siempre he estado interesado en la fotografía desde mis años de escuela secundaria, y en 2004 comencé a tomar fotografías temáticas con mensajes incrustados. Aunque el aumento de mi conocimiento acerca de la fotografía, también estaba asistiendo a diversas exposiciones de fotografía y participar en las competiciones.
Como yo tenía la intención de participar en concursos de fotografía con temas universales, el concurso fotográfico «Captura el Cambio Climático», organizado por el British Council fue una gran oportunidad para mí. Mi foto llevó mi mensaje sobre el cambio climático a través a un público más amplio. Creo que es necesario reforzar a través de diversos medios la conciencia social sobre el impacto negativo del cambio climático y el calentamiento global en nuestro país y el mundo.

Trato de transmitir mis pensamientos sobre este tema con mis fotografías, que son mi mejor forma de expresarme. Yo participé en el «Captura el cm bio de Clima» concurso de fotografía organizado por el British Council con el fin de describir la forma en que pienso y siento sobre este tema.
Creo que el British Council lleva a cabo una gran cantidad de publicaciones importantes y los proyectos sociales. El «Mi Ciudad» y «40 estaciones», exposiciones fotográficas, son algunos de los proyectos que he seguido con mucho gusto.

«I have always been interested in photography since my high school years, and in 2004 I started taking thematic photographs with embedded messages. While increasing my knowledge about photography, I was also attending various photography exhibitions and taking part in competitions.
As I was planning to take part in universally themed photography competitions, the photo contest “Capture Climate Change” organized by the British Council came as a great opportunity for me. My photo brought my message on climate change across to a wider audience. I believe it is necessary to reinforce through various means the social awareness on the negative impact of climate change and global warming on our country and the world. I try to convey my thoughts on this issue with my photographs, which are my best way of expressing myself. I participated in the «Capture Climate Change» photo contest organized by the British Council in order to describe how I think and feel about this subject.
I believe British Council carries out a lot of important publication and social projects. The “My City” project and “40 stations” photo exhibition are among the projects I followed with great pleasure.
I wish British Council, active in Turkey since 1940, success in all its future projects!»
